Faculty Mentor Program (FMP)
Our group participates in the Faculty Mentor Program (FMP) to offer invaluable research experience to UCSD juniors and seniors with a minimum GPA of 2.7 who would like to prepare for graduate or professional school. Students who have an interest in research on laser-matter interactions using computer simulations need to complete an FMP application.
Mentor Assistance Program (MAP)
Our group participates in the Mentor Assistance Program, an outreach program of the San Diego Supercomputer Center(SDSC) and UCSD Health Sciences Division, that has been developed to help increase awareness of campus departments and related fields of research and study to students in the San Diego region. Throughout the six-month program, students work with mentors to gain experience in the mentor’s area of study, or can propose to work on a project of their own. Students gain exposure to career options, hands-on experience, work readiness skills, and mentoring by committed researchers in a variety of disciplines. Students who are interested in research on laser-matter interactions using computer simulations need to complete an MAP application.
